I was pleasantly surprised to find that there’d be a good karma generating movement on Twitter today, the Kindness Party. This is the first perfect fit I’ve found on Twitter for part of our purpose and vibe here at Karma Cooler.

It’s so easy, when getting involved so deeply in the every day living of our lives, to forget to express our gratitude for the people around us. While it’s paramount that we show our appreciation for others, today is all about “speaking” our appreciation.

This particular “Wave of Appreciation” party, promoted by @phyllismufson, gives Twitter users the opportunity to reach out to their “twitterverse” and recognize members of their respective communities for the things they appreciate about them. It’s a worthy exercise online, and in every day life.

What have you done lately to show or express your gratitude to the people around you for what they bring to the table? Do you make it a priority to make them aware of the things you admire and respect about them?

Becky the rubber ducky was a gift from my mom. It was random, and Mami’s good like that. Once upon a time when I first met my friends Rain and YOYO in San Diego, we took pictures of Diego the rubber ducky: at Petco Park, on top of a cop car (please I hope no bad karma comes of that haha). So I wanted to keep the theme going when Becky the rubber ducky came into my life.

She accompanied me on the best vacation of my life (so far!), a cruise to Bermuda and a few spots in the Caribbean. The picture of her on this page and in all my avatars was taken in Bermuda. The one in this post was from St. Maarten. That cruise was such an incredible time – I shared some truly amazing experiences with my family and sat back just about every single day reveling in how lucky I was to be right there, right then. You could say I felt as though I just HAD to have done something right to deserve this good karma that made its way back to me. I guess that’s where the karma connection came into play for me. Plus I brought her to BlogWorld Expo this past fall, and she got to meet a lot of wonderful people that you’ll hear more about too.
